I am a parent of 4 kids, one of whom is 14. We live in the township and my daughter is not going to have busing this coming year due to Wilson thinking that it will cut cost. Well I would like to know what others think about this. I for one am very upset about all of this. I understand that gas prices are getting out of control and making it expensive for anyone to travel, but do you think that cutting out buses is going to make the parents vote for the school levy? Why dont we cut some of Wilsons paycheck to save on money? They are cutting busing for the kids, but they will continue to transport all of the sports. I think this tells the parents what the school board thinks is more important. My daughter is in 4 different sports thought the year and I would rather have to take her to her sports then for her not to be albe to get to school. My husband and I both work morning hours, so now I have to depend on someone else getting my child to school every day. I want to know if the school is going to be easy on these kids that cant get there every day? My opinion cut out the busing for sports I am sure parents would much rather take thier child to a sporting event then have them missing school. I was also told that once your child leaves your door step that they become property of the school until they get back to your home. Well then if something happens to them now seeing how they have to drive or walk themselfs there then I think that the school should have to take care of that. So if there is a accident, ticket, or anything like that then the school is responsible if this is a true fact that out kids are thier property. I would like to know what others think about this.
